Cellphone Of The Future?

Isn't a little ironic that the cellphone of the future may be powered by a hand-crank?

Actually, it might not be. Think about it: No battery that will run low in the middle of an important conversation. Oh but that's not all. This cellphone design, which has not yet come to the market, also features no touch pad. At its thickest, it's only 10mm.

What's more, it's got a great built-in camera, and the clock is a tasteful display of not digits, but a minute and hour hand. Sleek doesn't even begin to describe this device. Incidentally, the name of the concept design is SLIQ.

Let's hope it becomes available soon.


It's been a while since a cellphone has filled us with as much lust as this SLIQ design. It's a concept by Mike Serafin with no keypad and what he calls an "advanced touch interface." It better be pretty advanced, because we haven't been all that impressed with touch interfaces thus far.

Its illustrations have the Samsung logo either proudly or hopefully displayed, but we're not sure if this is a Samsung-authorized design or not. Besides its good looks, the concept has one particularly unusual feature we've never seen in a cellphone before.
