Dig The 'Vette Improvements! Autoweek is loving the 2008 Corvette's midcycle improvements. "Insane performance, ludicrous value," they wrote in a review. May 2007Most improvements are happening under the hood to give the Corvette more power and efficiency. But they also note the beasts also come in two new colors: Jetstream Blue Metallic, and Crystal Red Metallic. Chevy says that despite all the improvements, the price should only climb about a grand. They will be available for you to purchase them come August. A 40-minute stint in the 2008 Chevrolet Corvette did not provide enough seat time to write a full-fledged road test, but the route near Chevy’s Bowling Green, Kentucky, assembly plant revealed more of what we’ve come to expect from the Corvette lineup: insane performance, ludicrous value. Engineers focused on underskin improvements for the C6’s mid-cycle upgrade, with exterior changes limited to two new wheel designs and fresh body colors: Jetstream Blue Metallic and Crystal Red Metallic. An interior spruce-up includes flashier brightwork and a wire meshlike trim on the center stack and console. An optional leather interior wraps the dash and door panels—and finally puts the C6’s interior almost on par with the hardware’s world-class performance. (Continue reading this story on AutoWeek)
