‘Strong Dollar’ Talk Rings Hollow If the dollar is so hell-bent on outdoing its 12-year low, scored this week, then a lot of people are gonna’ have something to say about it. Certainly not U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, who says he backs a strong dollar but then won’t take reporters’ questions. But, you know, other folks – such as the kindly economists and forex analysts from Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley who have dutifully begun sounding the alarm over a possible G-7 intervention. And also the nations stupefied in mortal pain as once-ravenous American consumers stop indiscriminately buying their stuff. Why, even Toyota Motor Corp.
