Ponta dos Ganchos, an exclusive beach resort on Brazil's southeastern coast, is adding five new bungalows, and the inaugural stays will go to the highest bidders. The silent auction, which ends on October 31, 2008, will benefit the Instituto Guga Kuerten

The new accommodations being auctioned include four Emerald Villa Bungalows and one Special Emerald Villa Bungalow. The former offer 2,455 sqft of floor space, dry saunas and Jacuzzis -- not to mention views of the sea, personal spa areas, private decks and plunge pools. The Special Emerald Villa Bungalow also includes an in-villa fitness center.

The bungalows' inaugural weekend is December 5, 2008 to December 7, 2008. Bidding for the Emerald Villa Bungalows starts at R$4,480 (approximately US$2,560), and action on the Special Emerald Villa Bungalow kicks of at US$5,880 (approximately US$3,360). These minimum starting bids are 30 percent below the standard weekend rates.
